Terms of Use

Jumpball and Court IQ · Last updated 14 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Jumpball (ABN ) ("Jumpball", "we", "us") for your use of Jumpball, its team pages and Court IQ (the "services"). By creating an account or using the services you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.

2. Who can use the services

  • Accounts (coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and people following a team page in the app) are for people aged 18 or over, or aged 16 or 17 with the consent of a parent or guardian given through our consent page. The account stays locked until consent is given and is paused if it is withdrawn. Nobody under 16 may hold an account.
  • A coach aged 16 or 17 should work under the supervision of an adult coach or their club, as their club's safeguarding policy requires.
  • Team pages are for the players and families of that team, using the private link from their coach. A player under 18 should use the team page with their parent or guardian's knowledge and permission.
  • Court IQ is for players of any age; younger children should use it with a parent or guardian.

3. A coach's responsibilities

If you hold an account, you agree that you will:

  • record players by first name and last initial only, and not enter surnames, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, photos of children, medical or other sensitive information anywhere in the app, including notes and chat;
  • only enter a family email address that the parent, guardian or adult player has given you for team communication, use it only for that purpose, and remove it when asked;
  • for any player under 18, use a parent or guardian's email, never the child's;
  • send the team page link only to that team's players, families and staff, and replace the link if it spreads further;
  • keep team chat appropriate, remove unsuitable messages promptly, and never use the services to contact a child privately;
  • follow your club's, association's and Basketball Australia's member protection and child safeguarding policies, and hold any Working with Children clearance your state or territory requires. The services do not check this for you;
  • keep your password secure and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the services to harass, bully, threaten or discriminate against anyone; to post unlawful, sexual, hateful or misleading content; to send spam or marketing; to collect information about other users; to interfere with the services or try to access data that is not yours; or to break any law. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

5. Your content, and the community library

  • You own what you create. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the services.
  • When you share a drill or plan to the community library, you give other coaches permission to view, copy and adapt it for their own coaching, and you confirm it is your own write-up. Linking to a publicly available video is fine. Do not paste in someone else's text, diagrams or upload their video or image files.
  • Only upload a team or club logo you have the right to use.
  • If you believe something in the services infringes your copyright, contact us with the details and we will review and remove it where appropriate.

Links to Basketball Australia, state bodies and other sites are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for their content, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

5a. Our intellectual property

  • The services, including the software and its code, database design, page layouts and visual design, features and workflows, help guides, templates, and our own drill, play and session write-ups, are owned by Jumpball Pty Ltd and protected by copyright and other laws. The Jumpball and Court IQ names and logos are our trade marks.
  • We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the services for coaching while you follow these terms. This right ends when your account ends. Everything not expressly given to you is reserved.
  • You must not, and must not help anyone else to: copy, reproduce, sell or republish the services or any part of them (other than your own content); decompile, reverse-engineer or try to extract the source code, database design or server logic; scrape, crawl or bulk-download content, including the community library, by automated means; use the services, screenshots or our content to build, train or design a competing product or service; or remove copyright or ownership notices.
  • If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely to improve the services, without any obligation to you.
  • A breach of this section is a serious breach of these terms. We may close the account straight away and take any other action the law allows.

6. Coaching content is general information

Drills, plans, tips and AI Coach replies are general coaching information, not medical, health, legal or professional advice. Physical activity carries a risk of injury. Coaches are responsible for deciding what is suitable for their players' age, ability and health, for supervision, and for a safe environment. AI-generated replies can be wrong; treat them as suggestions.

7. Subscriptions and payments

  • Some features may require a paid plan. Prices are shown in Australian dollars and include GST. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • If a free trial is offered, you enter a card at the start and are not charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the plan starts and your card is charged the price shown at sign-up.
  • Plans renew automatically for the same period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from More → Manage billing; your plan then runs to the end of the period already paid for.
  • We will give reasonable notice in the app or by email before changing a price, and the change applies from your next renewal.
  • Except as required by the Australian Consumer Law, payments are not refundable for change of mind. If the service has a major failure, or we cannot fix a problem within a reasonable time, you are entitled to the remedies the law provides, which may include a refund.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the services available and your data safe, but we do not promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own backups of anything important (More → Export backup). We may change or withdraw features; if we close the services we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

8a. Club and association plans

  • A club or association plan gives a set number of coach seats and named club administrators. The club agrees to our Club Agreement when it buys the plan.
  • A team linked to a club by its coach is the club's team. Club administrators can see and edit everything in it and can reassign it to another coach; a coach whose team is reassigned loses access to that team but keeps their own drill library and private notebook.
  • The club is responsible for its administrators' use of the services, for its coaches' clearances and accreditation, and for handling the information in club teams under its own policies. The club can end a coach's seat at any time.
  • A coach is told, before linking, that the team becomes the club's. Only a club administrator can release a team from the club.

9. Your consumer rights, and our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows: the services are provided "as is"; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data you could have backed up, or loss arising from how a coach or another user uses the services; and our total liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

10. Ending your use

You can stop at any time and delete your account from More → Delete my account. Cancel any paid plan first. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts others at risk.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; we will post the new version here and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept it.
